As he carried Madifako into the house he undressed her and got her into her pyjamas and tucked her in bed; and as he was about to leave, Madifako called out to Trevor and asked him to come sleep next to her and just hold her...Trevor obliged.
When morning broke, Madifako awoke in confusion yet again feeling herself in a man's arms in her bed...It was after a recollection of last night that she remembered that Trevor picked her up from Cubana and probably stayed overnight with her. As she turned over to face Trevor he was wide awake and gave her a smile and said, "Good morning angel."
"Good morning Trev..." AND as if nothing had happened between them they embraced and held onto each other as though they were the last people remaining in the world for one another.
After some time Trevor jumped out of bed and returned to the bedroom with a tray carrying a plate of an omelette, a slice of bread coupled with a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice; finished with a long stemmed red rose which has always been Trevor's way of reminding Madifako that he loves her very much. He hadn't served her breakfast in bed in a very long time and this time it literally melted Madifako's heart and she fell instantaneously back in love with Trevor all over again.
"Madifako, we need to talk"
"Yes we do..."
"Look, I don't know what you have been getting up to this past week and I don't care but all I know is that I have wronged the one woman who means the world to me and I am very afraid of losing her." Trevor was saying this with his voice shaky and eyes glistening with tears and all Madifako could do was replay the moment she had with Maanda Mudau and was trying very hard not to expose the guilt that was gripping her yet again. Trevor continued, "Madifako, I know the last time we spoke you wanted to know when I was going to marry you and it had to take Mbali telling me that she is pregnant that I realised that I don't want to be with anyone but you. You have been nothing but a good woman to me and you have been so honest with me that I cannot afford to lose that. So having said that Madifako, it would be an honour to have you agree to be my wife and allow me to love you for as long as I breathe?!"
"Trevor, you are expecting a child with someone else; how can...?"
"Shhh, I know. I am prepared to take responsibility of my actions but I am not prepared to lose you. I know this has hurt you but I will make it a point to heal that pain for the rest of my life as my wife...please say yes and let's do this right...as husband and wife."
"YES TREVOR!"
Mr Trevor Vulani Mkhabela was elated and suddenly looked so mature and ready to be the head of Madifako's house. He stood up chest out and pranced around the bedroom showing Madifako how he is now going to be talking with his left hand in everyone's face because of the ring he will be donning as a married man and all Madifako could do was laugh and laugh and laugh some more. Trevor then said, "Baby, I am going to speak to my uncle and get this ball rolling today! I no longer have time to waste time. Actually, I have a suggestion...can we park the idea of making love until this process is done; create a semi-virgin out of you?" Madifako welcomed that suggestion with open arms as she needed to rid herself of Maanda Mudau's demons.

A love nest in Limpopo (7)
As Madifako was preparing Maggie's quotation she asked for
her full names. "I am Maggy with a 'y' and because o moPedi, I know that
my surname is simple yet always misspelt so I will spell it...M...U (not
O)...D...A...U! Maggy Mudau!
Madifako drank herself to a pulp and went straight for her phone and drunk-dialled Trevor.
"Hello"
"Hi Trevor, I know things are weird between us right now but can you come pick me up from Cubana? I cannot drive in the state I am in.
Without thinking twice Trevor called Jeremy the Maxi Taxi driver to pick him up from Ladanna to fetch his woman. In no time Trevor walked into the restaurant like a hero to save his damsel in clear distress.
As he carried Madifako into the house he undressed her and got her into her pyjamas and tucked her in bed; and as he was about to leave, Madifako called out to Trevor and asked him to come sleep next to her and just hold her...Trevor obliged.
That last name sent shivers down Madifako’s spine
considering that she has just spent a haphazard night with a Maanda Mudau.
Suddenly she was overwhelmed by Maggy’s presence and all sorts of thoughts ran
through her mind. ‘Is this Maanda’s WIFE?’ ‘Could this woman be here to check
me out?’ ‘Is she testing waters?’ ‘Should I run for my life?’ And as the
thoughts were pouring one after the other, Maggy put her hand on Madifako’s
shoulder to ask if she was okay?
Madifako almost jumped out of her skin with fear and Maggy
noticed that she was shook. “Madifako, are you fine?”
“Uhm, yes yes..I am okay, sorry just got distracted there
for a minute. I have just remembered that I have another appointment. I almost
forgot about it.” Maggy said, “Oh sorry honey bunch we did take longer than
expected let me dash I’ve also got a hair appointment with Malik and I must tell you how meticulous he gets with time. Send me the quote via email mudaum@gmail.com …very easy to remember.”
She said this as she was grabbing her handbag, car keys and heading for the
door.
Madifako almost struggled to stand up to walk her client out
as she suddenly became disoriented wishing to ask Maggy if she knew Maanda
Mudau? Madifako stood at the door waved back at Maggy as she drove towards the
gate in her SUV. As the gate closed behind Maggy all Madifako could do was
untie everything…first the jacket needed to get off; the tie undone and skirt
loosened…she needed to breathe.
This was not how she expected her day to pen out. She went
straight for the whisky bottle, poured a tot into a fresh glass and took a gulp
to shake herself back to life. Maggy’s scent lingered in Madifako’s studio and
she needed to get out of there and go for a drive. Madifako went to Cubana at Platinum Park and ordered an entire bottle of wine for herself. There was something unsettling about Maggy Mudau, her consultation felt too coincidental. Madifako drank herself to a pulp and went straight for her phone and drunk-dialled Trevor.
